Why Ride in a Group?
Group riding is one of the best parts of cycling. You'll go faster, farther, and have more fun than riding alone. Milwaukee has a vibrant group ride scene with options for every speed and style — from beer-fueled slow rolls to no-drop training rides.
Casual & Social Rides
The Bay View Slow Roll is a weekly social ride that explores different Milwaukee neighborhoods. No-drop, 8-10 mph, and usually ends at a bar or brewery. Perfect for new riders and anyone who values conversation over speed.
Milwaukee Beer Barons Ride combines cycling with brewery hopping. It's a fun, casual ride that showcases Milwaukee's craft beer scene.
Intermediate Training Rides
Wheel & Sprocket's Bay View shop hosts regular training rides on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. These are typically 25-35 miles at 16-18 mph with occasional regrouping. They're a great step up from casual rides.
Fast Drop Rides
For experienced riders, the Saturday morning race-pace rides leave from the East Side and cover 40-60 miles at 20+ mph. These are drop rides — if you can't hold the pace, you're on your own. Know the route before you show up.
Etiquette
- Call out road hazards: 'hole,' 'glass,' 'car back'
- Don't overlap wheels with the rider ahead of you
- Take your turn pulling at the front on no-drop rides
- Bring a tube, pump, and know how to use them
